A spider bit my boob

...at least that's what my doctor thinks. Pretty cool, huh?

The pictures have nothing to do with that. Just wanted to show off my new scarf.

Back to basics

I went to buy stuff I always think I already have. You know what I mean. Items that are so "you" that you just assume you have them, thus, you never actually buy them. Does that make sense to anyone else than me? Oh well. Or maybe it's stuff I have a hundred of already but can't stop looking for.... Ahhhh who knows.

Tank tops from American Apparel in grey and cranberry. And a long sleeved tee for chilly morning walks on the beach, or for looking decent when laying on the sofa watching shitty tv (like "Revenge". It's on here every Wednesday, sooo hooked. Typical guilty pleasure. Check it out!).

P-e-r-f-e-c-t tees from Michael Stars. I LOVE these. Not too thin, not too thick, not too long, not too short. Not too boob-y. Not too tight. Not too wide. You get it.

A quickie...

...while hubby's in the shower! On our way out, I'm feeling generous enough to show you some crappy pics just for the heck of it.

My wedding shoes!
Cheap ring from Cheap Monday (the biggie). The other one's made by the father of one of my students when I was an English teacher. I love it! Don't ask me about my fingers, they're having a bad day.
And I'm wearing lippy for the first time in months... Smack! Enjoy your evening, or your morning, depending on where you are!

Vintage schmintage

You know Stars? The antique shop I've been nagging about? I dropped by looking for a chair today, and came out with this 80's neiman marcus dress with huge-ass shoulderpads that I had to remove. 20 bucks! I need to have it fitted, but still. 20 bucks!

I just have to comment on my eyelashes here? Have they been growing? Carlos, is it your mascaras? Those of you who know me, know I'm not blessed in the eyelash department, to put it that way. Maybe it's all the kitchari. Heh.

I'm getting Roland Mouret/Victoria Beckham vibes. And the color is a lot better and more popping than I can capture in the pics. Being 100% wool I can't see myself wearing it in the near future... but did I mention it was just 20 bucks?!

Booties from Santa

Did you know that Santa Claus lives in Norway? And that she's a woman? And that she sends you presents in the middle of September? (You have to pay her though).
But thanks! I believe in you! Muak!

Temecula, here we come!

Never heard of it, you say? Well, neither had I. But it has a lot of wineries, and that's where we're going to be hanging around. Yumms!

Dear neighbour:

It's enough now, you can stop singing. You've been through almost every hit from the nineties, and some of them even more than once. I really don't want you to start on the 00's. Thanks.

Catch of the day

You didn't really think I'd come home empty handed from AK, now did you?

I left my espadrilles in Spain, so I had to get some new ones... Love the summery stripes. If you don't live near a little Spanish market where they sell them for a couple of euros (you can even get them at the gas stations over there), you can get some really nice ones here. I got mine at Steven Alan.

A yummy smelling candle from Boticario de Havana (bergamot, tobacco flower and ylang ylang, sooo nice), Ilia lipstick (that's one thing crossed of my wishlist) and some SPF from the Detox Market, plus some random cards. Drink more gin, peeps! Good to have as a reminder on the fridge.

Pablo!

...don't you just love this cardie? Knitted, cosy, autumny colors, and, you might not know this, but also quite fashionable. Comes in handy for chilly evenings.  Great for throwing on when going for a quick drink. Perfect for winter, when we'll be freezing to death in our unheated apartment. I'm making whatever you want for dinner! Love you!

Malababa

Dug out these earrings today, last seen in my hair on my wedding day.

I love how they have the exact same color as my hair, and just go off and hide in there somewhere. They're also a fab match with this tunic that I rediscovered right before moving here

The ear stash is from my favourite store in Madrid, Malababa. I completely adore the story behind the brand, on how a young Spanish woman started out making bits and pieces for her friends, sold some cotton bags in shops here and there, and ended up, by luck and a lot of hard work, having her own stores in Madrid as well as distributing her cool bags, shoes and accesories to big parts of Europe and even New York. Spanish Harper's Bazaar published an interview with the very pregnant Ana Carrasco in their July/August number:

Don't think the article's on their web, but check out the site anyway; The Spanish edition is waaay better than the UK or US one!

Baseball!

The first thing to do before going to a baseball game, is to put on a checked shirt...

...and some high heels. Ofcourse.

Then you feel a bit excited for a while and contemplate the great view. We went to a Dodgers game, and the stadium is really spectacular, surrounded by hills (not pictured).

After a while though, you start getting really bored and focus on other things than the game, such as having people take your pic, drinking beer and watching the kiss-cam. The match lasted for over 3 hours, and basically NOTHING happened. Next time we'll try American football.

Campomaggi

I've already had two people asking me about my bag... Yes, it's awesome, and it's from Campomaggi; without a doubt my new favourite bag maker.
