Little Spain

Imagine how happy we were, walking around the farmers market and finding this!!!

Felt like an hour in la latina...

Don´t know if it was the olives, the jamón or the red wine (probably), but I started dreaming about finding that perfect house in Mallorca and opening my store... Just you wait and see!:)

Viva España!

I haven´t been around for a while because I´ve been busy fighting off computer viruses, hiding behind pillows while watching American Horror Story (do not watch that show if you want to stay sane, and never ever say the words "Piggy, piggy" in front of a mirror), trying to learn how to drive a car again, returning to bikram yoga hell after a very long break, and that´s pretty much it. Most importantly though, I spent Saturday morning looking at this delicious plate of Spanish yumminess. Madre mía. Speaking of jamón, Almodovar was screening his new movie at USC Friday evening, but we didn´t risk standing in line without getting in. Maybe we should have.

Nostalgia Monday

I'm having one of those days where I just wish I was somewhere else. What, you're in California, it must be awesome!! you might say, but this usually happens to me once in a while no matter where I am, I guess it's the downside of moving around all the time. Homesickness is my specialty, and now, since I feel like I have two homes (Norway&Spain), I'm twice as homesick. Maybe not, but it sounded good.
Also, one of my best friends had a baby, and I wish I could be there with them (lots of hugs to you)!
Things I miss, in no particular order...

I just realized...

... that, although it seems like ages ago, four months ago at this exact moment we were getting married!

Could we have a wedding once a year maybe..?

Ezpania

When I was living in Spain, I ran into an artist called Miguel Ezpania near Arganda del Rey, just outside of Madrid. I happened to be in the area, and being completely lost in one of the huge building lots, he gave me a ride to the nearest subway. Some of his work is really interesting, and I remembered these moving to the US of A... For obvious reasons.

"Maruchan"
"Tacos"
"Titanium"
"Malasaña"

His studio, in the middle of an industrial "poligono" in the outskirts of Madrid.

Ezpania has exhibited in Mexico D.F, Madrid, Barcelona and Miami. Check out more of his work and bio here. You can also try one of his paintings on your wall with the option of buying it, if you live closer than I do!

Madriz, Madriz

Three things I'll miss about Madrid:

The "chinos" on every corner...

... Malasaña ...

... fighting with cool people every spring to get a place in the sun.

But most of all, all the beautiful, funny, intelligent, crazy, FANTASTIC people I've gotten to know. Yes, YOU!
