Coconut oil as conditioner

I know, I'm addicted to coconuts. As we speak, I'm eating an amazingly good mix of basically everything you can squeeze out of a coconut, plus some cocoa powder. And it tastes like chocolate. More about that another time.

If you want thick, shiny, lustrous, awesomely smelling hair you should also crack open a coconut. I've started using virgin coco oil instead of conditioner, mostly because I couldn't find an affordable, non-toxic, good alternative. I use the oil the same way I would use a "normal" conditioner; after shampooing, I take a grape-sized piece of the oil (it's usually solid, in my experience it melts if the room temperature is somewhere around 25-30 degrees), warm it in my hands, and massage it into the hair. Leave it there for as long as you can, it's even great to use as a mask, or for a real treat leave it in over night. It does take some extra time to rinse, but we're talking minutes here, so it's no big deal. The hair does NOT become greasy as many people seem to think; the oil leaves it feeling really silky and smooth. Try! Maybe you'll end up getting hair like this:

Happy feet

I realised, while almost fainting in yoga, that my feet looked like shit. So I walked across the street and got a pedicure. I hate it when people touch my feet, so I usually just do this at home, and I was struggling there for a bit, but now I'm really happy with my newly painted toes! Pedicures are so cheap here it's ridiculous, and you also get a quick foot massage which is heavenly. Happy weekend everyone! *wiggling my toes*

Suntegrity

I've FINALLY found a sunscreen that doesn't fuck up my face. And it's all natural, without parabens, has both UVA and UVB protection, and 20 % zinc so it's great for skin with a tendency to break out. And, it doesn't leave that annoying coat of color that other mineral spfs do,which makes you look pinkish and sunburnt before you've even stepped out in the sun... Halleluja.

(Sun)day

The sun is nowhere to be seen... Just went for a bike by the playa, but it was kind of chilly. The free concert on the beach they have every Sunday during the summer was a rather sad sight, last weekend it was packed, now you could've played a match of beachvolley between every scattered group of people. So I ended up back inside, blogging about nailpolish.

A green one!

I've been doing this for a while, but if you live in SoCal you HAVE to start your day with a green shot. There's a law on that. Mine has wheatgrass, chlorella, spinach, carrot, apple, celery and water. Gött! Now, a home spa with my Whole Food finds (it just took me 20 mins to walk there! Who says you need a car. Hah.)
